Douglas Stone, R. R. Rhodes, Carl Tishler, Jim Gardner, Everett Janne, and Wendell Horne; City Engineer Lloyd James; City Planner Lee Roy George; and City Secretary Lynda Swoveland Members Absent: Commissioners Carl Landiss and Joseph R. Baur Visitors Present: Ronald Perry, Fred Caskrovinci, Anthony Caporina, Rand Silverman, Craig Beale, Jay Garrett and Bill Epp Chairman Wells called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Room of the City of College Station, Texas. Commissioner Gardner raised a question concerning the Minutes of October 6, but after discussion among Commission members, it was resolved to his satis- faction. The Minutes of October 6, 1969 were approved as written. Chairman Wells read a letter from Ron Silverman, 3rd year architecture student, who expressed his appreciation on behalf of the 3rd year architecture students to the Planning and Zoning Commission, for their interest in the North Gate project. City Planner Lee Roy George stated that he did not have a meeting time firmed up officially, but that the Commissioners would be notified of the meeting date. The first item of business on the Agenda was the consideration of P&Z 69-31, a preliminary subdivision plat for Southwood, Section 8, submitted by the Area Progress Corporation (Bill Fitch), consisting of approximately ten acres of land east of the new high school site and north of the West By-pass. City Planner Lee Roy George showed the Commission on the maps he had prepared where the plat under consideration was located. Mr. Bill Fitch, owner of Area Progress Corporation, came before the Commissioners and showed them the preliminary plat under consideration and answered questions for them. He pointed out sewer lines and showed the Commissioners what he planned to do with the surrounding property in future development. Commissioner Gardner moved that the report of the Subdivision Review • Committee be accepted, which report stated that the plat was recommended for approval if a dedication of a 10 foot easement along the east property line of the church tract would be given. Commissioner Gardner also moved that the street the plat showed with no name be named Guadalupe Street. Commissioner Stone seconded the motion. Motion carried. The vote was unanimous. Minutes of the Planning and Zoning Commission October 2p, 1969 Page 2 Commissioner Gardner asked that City Planner Lee Roy George's name be added to the Roster of City Officials. He stated that he knew Mr. George was not appointed or an elected official, but he felt he should be on the list.
