Commissioner Gardner raised a question concerning the Minutes of October 6,
but after discussion among Commission members, it was resolved to his satis-
faction. The Minutes of October 6, 1969 were approved as written.
Chairman Wells read a letter from Ron Silverman, 3rd year architecture
student, who expressed his appreciation on behalf of the 3rd year architecture
students to the Planning and Zoning Commission, for their interest in the North
Gate project. City Planner Lee Roy George stated that he did not have a meeting
time firmed up officially, but that the Commissioners would be notified of the
meeting date.
The first item of business on the Agenda was the consideration of P&Z 69-31,
a preliminary subdivision plat for Southwood, Section 8, submitted by the Area
Progress Corporation (Bill Fitch), consisting of approximately ten acres of land
east of the new high school site and north of the West By-pass. City Planner
Lee Roy George showed the Commission on the maps he had prepared where the
plat under consideration was located.
Mr. Bill Fitch, owner of Area Progress Corporation, came before the
Commissioners and showed them the preliminary plat under consideration and
answered questions for them. He pointed out sewer lines and showed the
Commissioners what he planned to do with the surrounding property in future
development.
Commissioner Gardner moved that the report of the Subdivision Review
• Committee be accepted, which report stated that the plat was recommended for
approval if a dedication of a 10 foot easement along the east property line of the
church tract would be given. Commissioner Gardner also moved that the street
the plat showed with no name be named Guadalupe Street. Commissioner Stone
seconded the motion. Motion carried. The vote was unanimous.
