Tokler, Jr. , Ray Abbott, Robert Halliwell, B. G. Foster, Larry Reed, S. E. Babbitt, David Mayo, John Garner, and Bill Fitch The chairman called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Room of the City of College Station, Texas. The Minutes of March 3, 1969 meeting were approved as written. Mr. Wells reported that Culpepper Plaza has still not been approved because the Guarantee of Completion has not been received. Commissioner Gardner stated that he had purchased a large map of the City of College Station and that he and the chairman of the Bryan Planning Commission were working on the renaming of streets in the two cities. The first item was the consideration of the Master Preliminary Plat of Southwood, Sections 5, 6 and 7, from Southwest Parkway to West Loop of Highway 6. A discussion was held among the members of the commission in regard to this plat. On motion by Commissioner Baur, seconded by Commissioner Horne, the Master Preliminary Plat of Southwood, Sections 5, 6 and 7, from Southwest Parkway to West Loop of Highway 6 was recommended for council consideration, with the stipulation that the street right-of-way width to the east and west of the proposed high school site be increased to 80 feet as requested by the School Board. Motion carried. Mr. Gardner was recorded as voting no. On motion by Commissioner Baur, seconded by Commissioner Gardner, action will be deferred on the Preliminary Plat of University Park, fronting on Highway 6 and Highway 30, until the next Planning and Zoning Meeting. Motion carried. On motion by Commissioner Baur, seconded by Commissioner Janne, the preliminary plat, Skrivanek Addition, Section A on the North side of Holleman Drive, beginning 150 feet East of Glade, was recommended for council consideration. Motion carried. I Minutes of the Planning & Zoning Commission Page 2 March 17, 1969 The Preliminary Plat of University Arms from Munson Drive East along Highway 30 was the next order of business. There was some discussion from members of the audience in regard to this plat with some of the questions being directed to Mr. Babbitt, the developer of this addition. Mr. Babbitt explained the types of homes that would be built in this area. Commissioner Gardner moved that action be deferred on this plat until the plat could be studied by the Parks & Recreation Committee and the possibility of a Park site in the area could be studied. Motion failed for lack of a second. On motion by Commissioner Baur, seconded by Commissioner Janne, the Preliminary Plat of University Arms from Munson Drive East along Highway 30 was recommended for council consideration. Motion carried. Mr. Gardner was recorded as voting no. On motion by Commissioner Janne, seconded by Commissioner Baur, approval of rezoning a part of proposed University Arms, along Highway 30, from District 1 (single family residence) to District 3 (apartments) was recommended for consideration of the council. Motion carried. Mr. Gardner was recorded as voting no. There was considerable discussion of the proposed Mobile Home Park Ordinance; a revision of the first nine sections will be mailed to members shortly. The meeting adjourned at 11:00 P.M.
