MEMBERS PRESENT: Acting Chairman C. D. Wells, Jim O'Brien, Jim Gardner and Phillip Steen, Jr. DEVELOPERS PRESENT: Mr. Albert McMullin, President, and Mr. W. B. Bradley, Secretary, of University Heights Development, Inc., Owners; Mr. J. C. Culpepper, Jr. and John Garner, Planning Engineer. VISITORS PRESENT: City Manager Boswell, Councilman Cooley and others. . The Commission and Developers met in informal session for approximately two hours, in general discussion of alms and purposes, together with ordinance and policy requirements in regard to general development of this area of the city. It was the general concensus of all concerned that approval of the entire plat at this time would serve no useful purpose, since the total development would probably extend over several years time. It was further agreed that development should progress from West to East, and for present consideration, only Block 2 with surrounding streets was required. The meeting was then called to order and a motion was made by Mr. O'Brien seconded by Phillip Steen, that: Preliminary approval of Block 2 of University Oaks Subdivision be recommended to the City Council, together with Ashb xn Avenue E. from Highway 30 North to University Oaks Street, and University Oaks Street from Ashburn Avenue E. to the West boundary of the Subdivision, conditioned upon: 1. The right-of-way width of Ashburn be increased to 56 foot minimum. 2. The trunk line sewer crossing this block be re-routed . down the West boundary of the tract and thence East in the utility easement on the South side to the 15-inch trunk sewer. There was no discussion and the vote .vas unanimous for approval. The meeting adjourned at approximately 7:00 P.M. las/10-9-68
