Planning and Zoning Commission Minutes, February 27, 1967
City Hall, 5:00 p.m.
Present: Dr. Edward E. Burns, Chairman; Robert H. Schleider; Dennis H.
Goehring; W. A. Smith; Tommie H. Preston; Dr. Grady P. Parker;
and Dr. Wendell Horne.
1. Skrivanek Addition,Section III:
On a motion by Smith, seconded by Goehring, that the commission
recommended to the council for approval the Skrivanek Addition, Section
III. Motion passed.
2. Southwood, Section I:
On a motion by Burns, seconded by Preston, that the commission
recommend to the council for approval providing that Shadowwood
Street line up with the property line. Motion passed. Goehring abstained.
3. Southwood, Section III:
On a motion by Schleider, seconded by Preston, that the commission
recommend to the council for approval Southwood, Section III. Motion
passed.
4. On a motion made by Schleider, seconded by Smith, that the commission
recommend to the council for approval lots 1-8 in Southwood, Section
III, adjacent to A&M Consolidated School for District III Apartment.
Motion passed.
5.On a motion made by Smith, seconded by Schleider that the remaining lots
1-22, east and west of Lawyer Street be zoned, District No. 2,
Residential District. Motion passed.
Meeting adjourned 6:45 p.m.

Dear Sir:
Mr. A. W.. Arnold and I own a duplex building at 413
Stasney St. in College Station. (Lot 14 Block 2) It is
now zoned for residential # 2.
We would like to seek a change in zoning to designate this
area- as "APARTMENT HOUSE AREA*.
We have discussed the building requirements and limitations
with the inspector of College Station and feel that an
additional unit on this property could be satisfactorily
erected if it were zoned accordingly.-
We would appreciate your assistance in this matter.-
