• 4. On motion by Grady Parker and seconded by Ed Cooper, the commission
recommended to the council that the Proposed Changes in Traffic Pattern for
College Station south of Jersey Street and West of Highway No. 6 as proposed
by the commission Traffic Committee be adopted and specifically recommended
item No. 6 and Item No. 16; Item No. 16 stating that steps be taken to negotiate
with University officials to extend Timber Street across Jersey Street, then
veer to the right and join Bizzell. This would eliminate the short jog on
Jersey Street thus allowing smoother flow of traffic and Item No. 16, stating
that the hard surface area immediately to the North of Consolidated A&M School
be closed off on the east and west ends and a new access entrance from Jersey
Street be made midway between Timber and Holick. This area to be used only
as a parking area for the school. This action would eliminate some of the conges-
tion at the Holick and Timber intersections with Jersey.
Motion carried. Schleider abstained.

recommended to the council that Southwood Section I plat be redesigned to
provide adequate through access with two stub streets to the adjoining property
