CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS
August 8, 1967
The meeting convened at 5:10 p.m. , August 7, at City Hall.
Members Present: Dr. Edward E. Burns, Tommy H. Preston, Dr. Grady
P. Parker, Everett E. Janne, Dr. Wendell Horne.
Visitors Present: City Manager Boswell, North Bardell, Homer B. Adams,
Mr. Scanlin, and James G1 enn.
The revised preliminary plat of Southwood, Parts II and IV was dis-
cussed.
Parker made a motion, seconded by Janne, that the revised prelimin-
ary plat of Southwood, Parts II and IV be approved with the exception of Lot 1,
Block 4, and Lots 11 and 12, Block 3. The motion carried unanimously.
Horne made a motion, seconded by Janne, that the Planning and Zoning
• Commission recommend to the council approval of the Wilkins' request for the
re-zoning of Lots 7,8, 15, and 16, Block 2, Breezy Heights from # 1 to # 4.
Amendment- Parker made a motion, seconded by Preston that affected pro-
perty owners be notified by mail of the required public hearing on this re-
districting. The motion and the amendment carried unanimously.
City Manager Boswell discussed the proposed street improvements
that are imminent.
Janne made a motion, seconded by Horne that 29th Street be extended
to Ashburn Street from the city limits and R.O.W. be obtained for extension
of Ashburn Street to the Dominik property with the recommendation that said
street have a 37 foot wide curb and a hard surfaced gutter section. The motion
carried unanimously.
