May 10, 1966
Members present: Chairman Ed. Burns, D. H. Goehring, Tommy H. Preston,
Wendell Horne, Edwin H. Cooper, Robert H. Schleider, Jr.,
Everett E. Janne, City Manager Ran Boswell.
The first meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission met at 5:00
with chairman Ed. Burns presiding. The chairman directed D. H. Goehring
to serve as secretary with Ed. Cooper serving in his absence.
All future meetings will be held at 5:00 on the first Monday of every
month with occasional call meetings, said call meetings to be called by
the chairman, city manager or mayor. Each member of the Commission shall
pick up a copy of Ordinance 210, Article 38 to be furnished by Ran Boswell.
Chairman Burns moved that these individuals be appointed to the
following committees;
D. H. Goehring Industrial Development Board
Grady Parker City Cemetery Board
Everett E. Janne City Park Board
W. A. (Bill) Smith Airport Zoning Board and to head
• up sub-committee on traffic and
streets.
Tommy H. Preston County Commissioner Court
Wendell Horne School Board
Ed. Cooper Extra Territorial Planning
Each member will report his project to the City Council yearly. The
Committee discussed route proposals to tie into the East Loop and tabled
any action until the May 16 called meeting. Ran Boswell passed out to
each member a copy of the Brazos Area Plan.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
