September 9, 1965
The Planning and Zoning Commission met at 5:00 p.m. on September 9,
1965 at the City Hall of College Station, Texas and the following were
present: Chairman E. E. Burns, J. B. Hervey, R. F. White, D. A. Anderson,
C. F. Richardsoh, J. W. Sorenson, and City Manager Boswell.
It was moved by J. B. Hervey that we recommend to the council that
Lots 1 through 5 and 16 through 20 in Block 2 of the Tauber Addition to
College Station be rezoned from No. 2 Residential to No. 3 Apartment House
District upon the request of Mr. C. Grady Cates, Jr. Seconded by R. F.
White. Motion Carried.
It was moved by D. A. Anderson that Lots 4, 5, 16, and 17 of Block
4 of the Tauber Addition to College Station be rezoned from No. 2 Residen—
t° tial to No. 3 Apartment House District as requested by James McAdams.
Seconded by C. F. Richardson. Motion carried.
The Committee discussed the wooded property South of the cemetary as •
LA a possible park and recreation site. R. F. White was appointed as a
t') committee of one to look into the feasibility of developing the area for
w park and recreation purposes.
al The Planning and Zoning Commission whould like to go on record as
endorsing the Highway Department's proposal for the West Loop extending

from Miller's Lane on Highway 6 and running to Spur 135 at Easterwood
Airport. This endorsement is given to the city council for their consid—
® eration. Dick Hervey moved that the above endorsement be recommended to
® the city council. Seconded by J. M. Sorenson. Motion carried.
