HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/03/1966 - Minutes - Planning & Zoning Commission MINUTES OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING CONVISSION January 3, 1966 The Planning & Zoning Commission met at the City Hall at 5 O'clock on January 3, 1966 and the following members were present: Burns, Hervey, White, Richardson, Smith, Anderson & Sorenson. Ran Boswell, City Manager and North Bardell, Assistant City Engineer were also present at the meeting. Smith moved that we recommend to the City Council that we adopt the 8 points on the Street and Road Improvements recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. White seconded the motion. Motion carried. Anderson moved that we recommend to the City Council the approval of the request by Dr. Raymond Reiser for the resubdivision of Lots 8 9 Block B of Carter's Grove 2nd Installment. Sorenson seconded the motion. Motion carried. Smith moved that we recommend to the Council the adoption of the Preliminary Plat of the Glade Section 10 by 11r. W. D. Fitch. Hervey seconded the motion. Motion carried. The Planning & Zoning Committee went on record and has requested Mr. 411 Robert White to make arrangements for I1r. R. E. Ellifrit to meet with the Commission at 7:30 p.m., Thursday night, January 6, 1966. Mr. Ellifrit has served as the Chief City Planner for the City of Houston, Texas for a period of about 25 years. It is planned to review the current problems and plans which the City of College Station has and to supply Mr. Ellifrit with pertinent data and statistics in order that he be able to make suggestions to this commission at a subsequent meeting. Street and Road Improvements 1. County Road - prospective school property. 2. Extension of Park Place to Anderson (wide right-of-way) : A. Connect Holick Street to Park Place B. Possibility of Glade being one way away from school to Park Place. 3. Anderson Street - extended to border school property and connect with County Road. 4. Village Street - extended to Anderson Street. 5. Connect Glade to Highway 6. 6. Expand Jersey Streit to four lanes plus left turn storage 4/1 from Highway 6 to Wellborn Road. 7. Spring Green - extended to Anderson. 8. Haines extension to Highway 6 with 60-foot or larger right-of- way. Chairman Secretary •
