HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/29/1965 - Minutes - Planning & Zoning Commission MINUTES 1111 CITY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING April 29, 1964 Members Present: Hervey, Burns, LaMotte, Smith, Sorenson, City Manager Boswell. Mr. Hervey moved that the Planning and Zoning Commission recommend to the council that: (1) Lots 9 through 11 in Block 3 and Lots 18 through 21 in Block 4, Redmond Terrace be rezoned to No. 1 Business District; (2) Lots 1 through 9 in Block 6, Lots 3 through 8 in Block 3, and Lots 11 through 17 in Block 4, Redmond Terrace be rezoned to Apartment House District; and (3) the property designated on the original plat as community shopping center be rezoned as No. 1 Business District. Smith seconded. Motion carried. Mr. Smith moved that Lots 9 and 10 in Block 18 of the Boyett Addition be rezoned from No. 2, Residential District to Apartment House District. Seconded by Hervey. Motion carried. Mr. LaMotte moved that the rezoning request from Mr. Lauterstein be postponed until the deed restrictions in College Park Addition can be investi- gated. Seconded by Smith. Motion carried. Mr. Smith moved that contact be made with the city council relative to a joint meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission in regard to area planning for the City of College Station. Mayor and City Council City Hall College Station, Texas Gentlemen: I am the present owner of Lots One and Two and 15 feet off the South- west side of Lot Three and a strip of land 7-1/2 feet by 115 feet along the Southeast end of said Lots One, Two and Three, all in Block One, COLLEGE PARK ADDITION, to the City of College Station, Brazos County, Texas. At the present time this property that I have above described is zoned 111/ as residential No. One. It would greatly beneficial to me if the classification of this prope rty was changed to apartment house district No. Three and I feel if you will carefully investigate the matter, you will find that such change of classifi- cation will not injure or work hardship on anyone in the vicinity of this property and I, therefore, respectfully request that you consider this proposed change and take the necessary steps to so change the present zoning classification of such property. • I will be happy to furnish you with any additional information or to assist you in this connection in any way possible.
