PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
October 15, 1963

Members Present: Holleman, Richardson, Sorenson, Burns
The Commission studied the request by Mr. W. D. Fitch, President,
Area Progress Corporation, to rezone the three areas as described in his
letter of Sept. 23, 1963.
Tract 1: All of Lots 9 and 10 in Block 7 of the Glade Subdivision
as shown on Master Plat of "The Glade" as heretofore approved by the city
and final plat submitted for approval in August, 1963.
Tract 2: Lots 5 through 13, Block 4, and all of Block 5 of the Glade
Subdivision as shown on the Master Plat and all the unplotted tract of
approximately 1 acre area lying east of Block 5, west of the F. A.
Dobrovolny Estate and south of the County Road extended.
Tract 3: All of Blocks E and G and Lots 1 and 2 in Block F of College
Heights.
• The Commission considered all three proposals in the request separately
as to their relative effects upon neighboring properties and conformation
to the master area plan.
(a) The Commission unanimously approved the request to rezone Tract 3
to a restricted apartment zone.
(b) The Commission unanimously approved the request to rezone Tract 2
to a restricted apartment zone.
(c) The Commission, after much discussion and considering the
possibilities of adverse effects to neighboring properties and future
development, was not willing to approve the request for Tract 1.
The Commission, therefore, recommends to the City Council that the Area
Progress Corporation request to rezone Tracts 2 and 3 be approved; that
the request to rezone Tract 1 be disapproved.
