MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEE'T'ING
March 8, 1966
Members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Orr, Rhodes, Rosprim; City
Attorney Sandstedt; City Manager Boswell.
The council met in joint session with the Bryan City Commission in
the Bryan council room to hear a report of progress over the past sixteen
months by the Southwestern States Telephone Company.
Following the presentation of the report, the Bryan City Commission
authorized their attorney to work with College Station City Attorney, John
L. Sandstedt, Mr. Clark Monroe and Mr. Rex Bailey of the telephone company,
in the preparation of a new franchise to be presented to both governing
bodies.
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, City
Attorney Sandstedt was directed to work with the Bryan City Attorney,
Mr. Monroe and Mr. Bailey in the preparation of the franchise. When these
four have agreed upon the franchise it will be presented to the governing
bodies for their consideration.
