Brazos County Hispanic Culture Exhibit Opening in October
College Station, TXâ College Station Heritage Programs, Amigos del Valle de Brazos, and Brazos County
Historical Commission are proud to present an exhibit celebrating Hispanic culture in Brazos County with
an encore from the award winning TAMU ¡Siempre! exhibit.
"¡Siempre! Otra Vez" will open on Sunday, October 11, 2009, from 2â4 p.m. at the College Station
Conference Center, 1300 George Bush Drive, College Station. The reception, sponsored by Amigos del
Valle de Brazos, will include refreshments, Aggie Mariachis, and Ballet Folklorico.
The exhibit will be on display through Spring 2010 at the Conference Center along with photos and
memorabilia from local Hispanic families.
According to Anne Boykin, College Station Heritage Programs Coordinator, "The Hispanic history in
Brazos County is very rich, yet very elusive. This exhibit will be a perfect opportunity to acquaint our
community with the many contributions that have been made by local Hispanic families. Their
contributions to Texas A&M were recognized a few years ago with the ¡Siempre! exhibit. Texas A&M has
graciously agreed to allow us to display ¡Siempre! and expand on it."
