1. Call to Order
The 75th Anniversary Committee was called to order by Chair Linda Harvell at 8:30 a.m. on October 17, 2013 in the College Station City Hall, 1101 Texas Avenue, College Station, TX 77840.
2. Hear Visitors
There were no visitors.
3. Consider Approval of Previous Minutes
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Committee Member White and seconded by Committee Member Vastano, the minutes were unanimously approved with minor changes.
4. Sponsorship Workshop
Discussion addressing a check from Union Pacific, Mike Neu stated he would follow up with Union Pacific as to whom we should address the thank you letter to.
5. Promotion and Media
Mike Neu reported that Eagle front-pages and headlines are being discussed and displays are being assembled. Jumbo mugs for table decorations for the Homecoming event Friday night are
being ordered as blue with a silver 75th logo. Flower donations are being sought for display.
6. Bush Library Exhibit Update
Mike Neu reported that the staff has returned to work at the Bush Library, but we do not have new dates for events. A model train display reminiscent of the original College Station
train depot is being assembled by Charlie Gilbert and it is of substantial size.
7. Homecoming Events, planning
October 22 VIP event:
Mike Neu reported that VIP event will be rescheduled, most likely to the same week as Homecoming. There is a plan to recognize all sponsors at this event.
Friday, November 15 Homecoming event at Southwood:
Committee discussed the dinner and event at the Southwood Community Center at Brian Bachmann Park. Currently, 150 reservations for the dinner have been received. The cost to attendees
for the dinner will be $12 per plate. JJās Liquors is planned to arrange the cash bar.
Linda Harvell gave notice that a 40ā x 60ā tent, accommodating 200 persons, has been secured for the event. There is a possibility that more tent space may be secured if registration
increases.
Libby Vastano volunteered to staff the table for distribution of bracelets indicating people have paid.
Saturday November 16th Event, Bush Library and Grounds:
Discussion on scheduling speakers, co-coordinating poster signings, who will be honored, and a historic theme or message.
Sherry Fisk reported that the square dancers had to withdraw the offer to perform.
The pipe and drum group discussed previously where still a possibility.
Allison Meserole has confirmed that the Brazos Valley Community Band would perform at 10 a.m.
Linda Harvell advised that Tracy Paine was pursuing a donation of cake for the event.
Henry Mayo reported that the Police Department robot is coming together.
The teen rock group discussed previously will not be performing at the event.
Ringer Library and City Hall Exhibit Cases:
Tom Taylor advised that he has placed historical images in the display case at City Hall and at Ringer Library.
1938 House Signage:
Jerry Cooper notified the committee that the home signage is ready for distribution. Mike Neu will work on a press release.
8. Report- Car Show
B. B. Holland reported that he estimated to have 45-50 cars for the show. Committee discussed overflow parking for support vehicles for those showing.
9. New Business
Linda Harvell put forward, and the Committee agreed, that at the November 16th event there should be recognition of sponsors in the form of a pin, ribbon, or lanyard. Mike Neu will
look into the options for recognition.
10. THE NEXT MEETING OF THE 75th ANNIVERSARY PLANNING COMMITTEE IS SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, October 24, 2013.

11. Adjournment
MOTION: There being no further business, the Regular Meeting of the 75th Anniversary Committee was adjourned at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2013.
