March 4, 1938 – Original petition presented to A&M
June 2, 1938 – Petition with 165+ signatures presented to Judge John Ferguson, Brazos County
Oct. 19, 1938 – Election to Incorporate held in Southern Pacific Depot; passed 217 to 39
November 11, 1938 – First meeting held to elect a council
November 28, 1938 – Councilmen took office
February 25, 1939 – First Council meeting held

Commemorative plate – Sponsored by Foley’s, Fred Brown Mazda, Anco Insurance, W.D. Fitch, Young Brothers U-Rent-Um, St. Joseph Hospital Health Center
Historic homes calendar – Featured campus houses; combined with art contest to choose renderings of the houses for the calendar

City history book – City hired an A&M graduate student
Golden Anniversary Ball (March 25, 1988) at the Conference Center

Oral History Project – produced 33 binders of city history
