BRYAN COLLEGE STATION PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM ADVISORY BOARD
September 16,2015
On the 16th day of September 2015,the Bryan College Station Public Library System Advisory Board of
the cities of Bryan and College Station,Texas met in a regular meeting at the Carnegie History Center,
111 S. Main, Bryan,Texas 77803
1. President Larry J. Ringer called the meeting to order at 5:16 p.m. and the following were present:

3. Other guests were Dr. Larry Koeninger, Library System Director;David Schmitz, College Station
• Parks and Recreation Director;and Laura Mills,Library Adm. Asst.; Jessica Jones,Ringer Library
Manager; and Bobbee Pennington,Mounce Youth Services Librarian.
4. The minutes of the September 2, 2015 and June 10,2015 meeting were approved as distributed.
5. The statistics for June,July and August 2015 were reviewed. Dr. Koeninger mentioned that
circulation had significantly increased at both the Mounce and Ringer Libraries.
6. In old business,David Schmitz gave an update on the Ringer expansion. The next step is to finalize
the conceptual design and after that, a contract awarded for the actual construction. He mentioned that
move-in could be in about 2 1/2 years.
7. A. In new business,Bobbee Pennington made a presentation on the Family Place Library grant that
was received. A budget of $6,000 was awarded to purchase play items and to host two 5 week
workshops for parents and children. .
B. Dr. Koeninger distributed a handout of the final SRP statistics.
8. Dr. Koeninger's Librarian report is attached
9. There were no requests for agenda items for the next library board meeting scheduled for November
25,2015 at the Ringer Library.
10. The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
