REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
July 19, 2017
On the 19th day of July 2017, the Bryan + College Station Public Library System Advisory Board of the cities of
Bryan and College Station, TX met in a regular meeting at the Clara B. Mounce Public Library—201 E 26th St,
Bryan, TX.
1. Call to Order
A quorum was met and President, Larry Ringer, called the meeting to order at 5:17 p.m.

3. Visitors
Others in attendance were Dr. Larry Koeninger- Library System Director, David Schmitz—Director of
Parks & Recreation/College Station, and Teresa Baldwin - Library Administrative Assistant.
4. Previous Minutes
The minutes of the May 2017 meeting were approved as distributed.
5. Monthly Statistics
The statistics for May and June were reviewed. Dr. Koeninger explained the statistic descriptions for
the new board member and answered questions about book budgets for each branch and the
weeding process.
6. Old Business
Ringer Expansion: There is no new news. We still await College Station opening of bids.
End of Year Report: Dr. Koeninger has sent the report to the City of Bryan and it will be released as a
part of the City Manager's yearly packet.
7. New Business
There was no new business. A short discussion of the library system's history was had after the
presentation of the Librarian's report.
8. Librarian's Report
See attached. Particular discussion was had regarding the following:
a. New Libby and OneClick Digitial apps.
b. Summer Reading Program participation.
c. Locally administrated grants.
d. City Council actions, specifically extension of contracts for item purchasing.
9. Request for Agenda Items
Agenda items for the September 20th meeting, to be held at the Carnegie History Center— 111 S Main
St, Bryan,TX- should be sent to Dr. Koeninger at lkoeninger@bryantx.gov, or by telephone at 209-
5611.
10.Adjournment
Mr. Ringer adjourned the meeting at 6:08 p.m.
