1 41 BRYAN+COLLEGE STATION PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM ADVISORY BOARD
June 25,2002
On the 25th day of June, 2002 the Bryan+ College Station Public Library Advisory Board of
the cities of Bryan and College Station, Texas, met in a rescheduled meeting usually held in July
at the Bryan Public Library, 201 E. 26th Street, Bryan, Texas and the following members were
present:

2. Also present were Mrs. Clara Mounce, Community Librarian, and Mrs. Laura Mills,
Secretary.
3. President Larry Ringer called the meeting to order at 5:20 p.m. Visitors present were City of
College Station staff members, Glenn Brown,Mark Smith, Olivia Burnside and Charlie Shear.
-4) 4. The minutes of the May 21, 2002 meeting were approved as distributed.
5. The monthly statistics for May 2002 showed increases in circulation.
6. No old business was discussed.
7. The College Station Capital Improvement Program staff distributed handouts showing library
improvements scheduled for consideration in the 2013-2018 time frame. Library board members
expressed concern over the delay in expanding the library meeting room, computer lab and
additional space for books and materials. Mr.Ringer encouraged board members to serve on the
Citizen's Committee for Capital Improvement to represent issues on expanding the library sooner
than projected in the report.
8. In a brief librarian's report,Mrs.Mounce stated the Summer Reading Program was going well
with over 1,000 children registered at each library.
9. The Library Board will meet on September 17,2002 at the Carnegie History Center.
10. The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
