BRYAN+COLLEGE STATION PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM ADVISORY BOARD
MARCH 19, 2002
On the 19th day of March, 2002 the Bryan + College Station Public Library Advisory Board of
the cities of Bryan and College Station, Texas, met in a regular meeting at the College Station
Library, 1818 Harvey Mitchell Parkway South, College Station, Texas, and the following
members were present:

2. Also present were Mrs. Laura Mills, Secretary. Community Librarian Clara Mounce was not
present due to a death in her family.
• 3. President Larry Ringer called the meeting to order at 5:20 p.m. Visitors were Mary Kay
Moore,Bryan City Manager, and Hugh Walker, Bryan Deputy City Manager.
4. The minutes of the January 19, 2002 meeting were approved as distributed
5. The monthly statistics for January and February 2002 were discussed. Mr. Ringer
commented that statistics continue to increase.
6. In old business, the library is waiting receipt of the LStar Libraries funds.
7. A. The Annual Report summary was distributed to board members. The handout showed
annual percentage variations in several categories from 1981 and each year to 2001.
B. Eric Miller was introduced as the new board member.
8. The Bryan City Manager and Deputy City Manager each thanked the members for service on
the Library Board and offered continued support to the Libraries. Jeanne Mitchell mentioned the
Friends of the Library are planning special activities for the Annual meeting in 2003. The next
Friends of the Library Book Sale is May 25 at the Bryan Library. The smaller book sales held
periodically during the year are successful. Dave Moore commented that the Cushing Library
will host a new exhibit of the history of women at Texas A&M.
9. There were no requests for agenda items at the next meeting to be held at the Bryan Public
Library on May 21, 2002.
10. The meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
