Also present were Mrs. Clara B. Mounce, Community Librarian, Mrs Laura E. Mills, Secretary/Library; and Cathie McQuistion, Automation Coordinator. 3 President Larry Ringer called the meeting to order There were no visitors 4. The minutes of November 18, 1999 were approved as mailed 5 Monthly statistics for November 1999 and December 1999 were discussed 6 A. Cathie McQuisition commented that there were no major problems with Y2K. The Electronic Notification System required installation of a "patch", but worked fine after that She believed that preparations made by the City of Bryan helped avoid problems B Mrs Mounce stated that the law library had been moved. Some bound periodicals had been hauled away by Ron Schmidt, some were stored for the City's auction and some were given away Mrs Mounce proposed the name of "Readers' Lounge" for the area that will house the mystery, science fiction and young adult fiction collections Carpet installation will be finished by January 19th. 7 For the election of officers, Bill Lancaster nominated Larry Ringer for President and Elaine Vance nominated Dave Moore as Vice-President After discussion, both nominees were elected 8 In the Librarian's report, Mrs Mounce showed prints from photo negatives of old Bryan. She will continue to work on the collection of 500 negatives at her home computer Mrs Mounce stated the Career Progression Pay Plan was implemented by the City on January 1 A librarian and clerk has been hired for the library's Sunday hours (not yet determined). 9 The March meeting will be held at the College Station Library Agenda items may include an update on the Junior League's support of Summer Reading Club 2000. 10 The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p m.
