On the 19th of September 1995 the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas convened in a regular session in auditorium of the Bryan Public Library 201 E 26th St. , Bryan, Texas at 5: 15 p.m. and the following members were present: 2. P 7 6 Also present was Mrs. Clara B. Mounce, City Librarian and secretary Laura Mills. Librarians present were Mrs. Nan Ross, Ms. Angela Alford and Mrs. Dianna Kempcke, new reference librarian. 3. There were no visitors present. 4. The minutes for March and July were approved as corrected. 5. Monthly statistics for July and August for the College Station Library were noted. 6. There were no committee reports. 41117. In the librarian's reports, Mrs. Mounce reported that the automation project is ongoing with visits to libraries with similar systems of the proposed system being beneficial . Ms. Alford stated that business was good; the driver-clerk position had been filled and a part-time position was still open. An extension to the circulation desk had been installed. Mrs. Ross introduced Dianna Kempcke, the new reference librarian. Since the re-opening, reference'questions were continuing to increase daily. Two new computers with genealogy programs were very popular but required one on one training and some time was devoted to that task. 8. There was no unfinished business. 9. In new business, Mrs. Mounce stated that the library reopened on September 6th and a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held September 7th. Some of the major library improvements included new carpeting, lighting, refinished furniture and new wall coverings. The fireman's memorial for the front lawn of the library was discussed. A smoke sensory system for the HVAC was being installed. The periodical shelving destroyed by the fire is . scheduled for delivery and installation the last week of September. Due to the pending trial , further comments regarding the fire are withheld from this public record. 10. There were no requests for the next agenda. 11 .
