OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD
January 19 , 1993
•1 . On the 19th of January , 1993 the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas
convened in a regular session at the College Station library at 5 : 15 p .m. The
following members were present :

Also present were Mrs . Clara B . Mounce, City Librarian; Ms . Angela Alford,
Branch Librarian ; and Mrs . Laura Mills , Secretary .
3. Visitors were Mr . Michael Conduff , City Manager ; Dr . John Blackburn,
Director , Community Services ; and Dr . Dale Knobel .
4 . The minutes were approved as mailed.
5 . The statistics for November and December were provided in the mailout .
6 . There were no committee reports .
7 . The Librarian ' s report included comments about the Doak Estate and Bernath
Estate. The Woman ' s Club donations for library automation total $244 . 00 so
•far , and further contributions are expected . Mrs . Mounce stated that she is
still receiving applications for the Associate City Librarian position .
8 . A. Regarding the Carnegie Library Master Plan, an architectural hearing
is scheduled for January 28th in the Carnegie building . Mr . Conduff commented
to Dr . Blackburn to further pursue the proposal . Mrs . Tolson passed out a
survey of Carnegie Libraries in the state of Texas .
• 9 . A. A review of the Annual Report, 1991-1992 showed an 8% increase in
circulation.
B . Mrs . Mounce reported that the Requests for Information from vendors
regarding library automation are indicating about $250 , 000 plus another
$50 ,000 for supplies , etc.
10 . There were no requests for items for the agenda.
11 . The meeting adjourned at 6 : 00 p.m.
