OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD
• March 19, 1991
1 . On the 19th of March, 1991 , the Library Board of the City of Bryan,
Texas convened in a regular session in the Library auditorium
at 5 :05 p.m. and the following members were present:

Also present were Mrs. Clara B. Mounce, City Librarian; Ms . Alice
Nixon, Associate City Librarian, and Mrs . Laura Mills, secretary .
3. Carol Weatherford, the new chief office clerk, was introduced.
4. The minutes of the January 15, 1991 meeting were approved as
presented.
5 . The statistics for January and February, 1991 were reviewed.
IIM The current trend is a slight decrease in circulation at the main
library and a continued increase in Branch circulation.
6 .A.There were no committee reports .
7 . In the librarian ' s report, Mrs. Mounce informed the Library Board
that the video cassette checkout had been changed to unlimited
cassettes for one week checkout period. She reported that the
second phase of the pay classification would be implemented soon.
She mentioned that the Friends of the Library annual meeting would
be on April 16th with Jeff Carroll as guest speaker .
8.A.There was no unfinished business.
9 .A. In new business, the City Librarian commented that the Friends
of the Library had purchased the new reference desks, revolving
stands for talking books, Rountree Room magazine display and an
easy picture book reading table and benches.
B .Expanded hours at the Branch library have been approved, a part-
time clerk has been hired and effective April 2, the Branch will
stay open until 9 p .m. on Wednesday nights .
10 . There were no requests for items for the agenda.
11 . The meeting adjourned at 6 :00 p.m.
