OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD

1 . On the IS of Mar 1987, the Library Board of the City of
Bryan, Texas, convened in regular session in the regular
place in the Reading Area of the Library Building at 5:00
p.m. and the following members were present:

Also present were Mrs. Clara B. 1iounce, City Librarian ; and
Mrs. Laura Mills secretary. -
• 3.. No visitors were present.
4. The minutes for January were approved as presented.
5. Statistics for January and February were presented for
both the Bryan and College Station Libraries. The City
Librarian explained the pie graph comparing circulation for
Bryan and College Stastion residents.
6. There were no committee reports.
7.& 8. in the librarian '_ report, !'Mrs. i'lounce announced that
the Branch Library opened on February 2. She reported that
$1700 was donated to the library from profits of the art
auction fund raising event on February 21 . The City
Librarian commented that the vendor for the furnishings was
aware of a few items that needed correction and discrepancies
in this area would be solved soon. Mrs.. flounce reported
that she was preparing the Branch Library budget for the new
fiscal year .
9. In new business, Mrs. flounce presented a summary/
comparison of the Annual Reports for 1981-1986. She called
attention to several items on the summary, including the
16.27 increase in circulation and only .01% increase in staff
size.

The City Librarian::, informed the Board that Judge Carolyn
Ruffino had resigned from the Library Board.

10. There were no requests for items for the agenda for the
next meeting, Mrs. flounce asked that since the Board would
not meet in regular session for April, that all members try
4�� to attend the Friends of the Library Annual Meeting on April
�~- 14 at 7 p.m. in the Library auditorium~
11 . The meeting adjourned at 6x15 p.m.
