On the 20th of November, the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas, convened in regular session in the regular place in the Reading Area of the Library Buildings at 5 g_m_ with the following members present: 2• ATTENDANCE Member Present # of meetings # of meetings Absent held since attended since appointment appointment Ed Madeley, Pres. Gibson P 24 16 Mrs. Mildred Thomas P 4 4 Mrs. Carolyn Alford P 4 2 Also present were Mrs. Clara B. Mounce, City Librarian; Mrs. Jerilynn A. Williams, Associate City Librarian; and Mrs. Laura Mills, secretary. 3 . There were no visitors. 4. The minutes were approved as mailed. 5. The monthly report of statistics for October indicated an increase over the same period last year. 6. There were no committee reports. 7. Mrs. Mounce read a letter from Kent Caperton, State Senator , commending the City Librarian for pursuing the issue of obtaining a Kurzweil Reading Machine for the Library. Mr. Madeley extended congratulations to Mrs. Clara Mounce for her appointment as President of the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association for the 1985-86 year. Mrs. Mounce also received commendation for her appointment from the Mayor and City Council at the City Council meeting in November. 8.A. Mrs. Mounce reported progress for the Branch Library in College Station is apparently at a standstill , but stated that the new College Station City Manager is library-oriented Mr. Madeley suggested the Board contact the Bryan City 411 Manager about the library and if no progress has been made in a month. Mrs. Mounce presented several designs for the proposed paint design of the Bookmobile. Due to serious rust problems on the top area of the vehicle, repair and paint would be necessary.
