• OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD
NOVEMBER 18, 1981
The Bryan Library Board of Trustees met in regular session November 18, 1981.
Present were Mrs. Bookman Peters, Mrs. R. H. Harrison, III, Mrs. C. J. Allen, Mrs.
Willie Belle Bogard, Mr. Mickey McGuire and Mr. Vic Paulos.
Excused was Mrs. Willie Pruitt.
The minutes of the October meeting were approved as mailed.
Sue Sommerfeld, Children's Librarian, and Lois Woodward, Assistant Children's
Librarian, were introduced. They discussed present services offered: four storytimes
a week for the public, 36 regularly scheduled class visits a month, Saturday movies,
seasonal events such as Halloween party, Pet Show, Christmas Tree Trimming party,
Summer Reading party. Projected services discussed included expanded services to and
from public schools, a reading club program for older elementary school children and
• bibliographic files for readers advisory.
The Board passed a motion supporting the librarians promotion of Jean Muetzel
from Bookmobile Librarian to Librarian II. A job description was distributed to the
Board members. Mrs. Muetzel will be introduced at the next Board meeting.
A discussion of religious books resulted in several suggestions for additions
to the collection. Several new Bibles have been added recently.
Activities in the library in December were announced, including a micro-
computer demonstration, and an architectural exhibit.
The meeting closed at 6:20 p.m.

On the 18th of November, 1981 the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas convened
in regular session in the regular meeting place in the Reference Room located in the
Library Building at 5 p.m. with the following members present.
