OF THE BRYAN LIBRARY BOARD
OCTOBER 21, 1981
The Bryan Library Board of Trustees met in regular session on October 21, 1981.
Present were Mrs. Bookman Peters, Mrs. R. H. Harrison, III, Mrs. C. J. Allen, Mrs.
Willie Belle Bogard, Mr. Mickey McGuire, and Mr. Vic Paulos.
Excused was Mrs. Willie Pruitt.
The minutes of the September meeting were approved as mailed.
The librarian introduced Nan Ross, reference and genealogy librarian, and Mary
Woelfel, a clerk in adult circulation, to members of the Board. The growth of the
genealogy and reference collections was discussed. More than 100 genealogy books
have been sent to the bindery recently, as many genealogy materials are available only
in paper back.
Mrs. Woelfel described some of her duties relating to the reserve book service
offered by the library. She explained that many reserves are placed even before the
book is available in the library.
The librarian explained the monthly statistical records and accounts which were
mailed to each Board member. These statistics and booklists were approved.
Copies of the line item budget for fiscal year 1981-82 were distributed and the
budgeting process was discussed.
The librarian reported that the Ffiends of the Library annual book sale netted
$1600.
A report on the TLA District III meeting was given by the librarian.
Additional copies of the Texas Library Turstee manual were requested. The
librarian will order them from the Texas State Library.
A resolution commending Mrs. Linda Pringle for her service as City Librarian
was presented and will be available in the librarian's office for signatures of the
Board members.
The meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.

On the 21st of October, 1981 the Library Board of the City of Bryan, Texas convened
in regular session in the regular meeting place in the Reference Room located in the
Library Building at 5 p.m. with the following members present.
