Historic Preservation Committee
Monday, October 03,2016—4:00 pm
The City Council may or may not attend the Historic Preservation Committee Regular Meeting

1. Called to order and announced a Quorum @ 4 pm.
2. Anat Geva requested an absence and it was approved by the committee.
3. The committee voted unanimously to approve the minutes.
4. Four Students from a Blinn Texas Government class were present during the meeting.
5. Katherine Edwards did extensive work identifying a list of 26 houses, she hopes to turn the final draft
over to Mike Neu in December so he could work on the finished product. She will come up with a
rough draft and pictures for the next HPC meeting. Jerry Cooper has a list of every house and also has
pictures.
6. The American Mile bricks are in and will be installed by the crews by the end of the year.
The Committee has not received any Historic Marker applications.
Katherine has booked Galvez(Galveston) for April's Lunch Lecture. If you know of any speakers
please let Katherine know.
Brooke Linsenbardt is the new Historical Records Archivist. She has been busy organizing Project
I-Iold archives and physical collections.
7. David reported that the Buffalo Soldier statue dedication at the Brazos Valley Memorial went well.
8. The committee discussed upco►ning Wheelock Pioneer Days Oct. 15 and Worldfest Nov. 5
9. No items for the agenda
10. Katherine brought an item for the committee to pass around.
11. The meeting was adjourned at 4:40.
