HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/06/2016 - Regular Minutes - Historic Preservation Committee ( AV ‘44/ * 1 CITY OF COLLEGE STATION Home of Texas AM University' Minutes Historic Preservation Committee Monday,June 06,2016—4:00 pm The City Council may or may not attend the historic Preservation Committee Regular Meeting Present: Committee: Louis Hodges(chair) Marilyn Randall Gerald Burgner Katherine Edwards Annette Naylor Justin Lopez Not Present: Michael Hardy Charlie Jones Edelmiro Escamilla City Staff: David Schmitz Andrea Lauer Jared Donnelly 1. Called to order and announced a Quorum @ 4 pm. 2. Michael Hardy and Edelmiro Escamilla requested an absence and it was approved by the committee. 3. The committee voted unanimously to approve the minutes. 4. No visitors were present. 5. The committee discussed a possible historic home/houses tour, possibly the houses that were moved from campus. They will discuss more at the July meeting. 6. Gabby gave an update on the bricks, she is getting with the brick manufacturer to order bricks for 2008-2016, and Matt will get her a quote. The bricks will be as similar to the same size and color as possible. Lou will send out the Historic Marker application that the Dupriest family submitted to all the members to review and they will vote at the July meeting. No Oral History interviews to report, and this line item will be left off future agendas until further notice. The committee discussed possibly not scheduling a Lunch Lecture during the month that the Senior Expo is held because it falls on the same day. Justin Lopez stated that he will try to get the word out to different age groups so they could also attend. The committee also talked about being more active in getting sponsors to cover the lunch. Nothing new was discussed on the website. Jared Donnelly announced that he was leaving the City of College Station next month. 7. No report from David Schmitz. 8. Booneville Days is coming up in October. 9. The next meeting falls on July 4°'which is a holiday so it will be moved to July 11`x'. 10. Lou Hodges brought some items. 11. Adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
