Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 12:05pm
Pardon-Consider requests for absences of members from meeting:
None

Approval of the Minutes:
Alma Molina motioned to approve the minutes for May 20,2004 as written.
Glenda Elledge seconded the motion. Motion Passed
Revenue Reports:
Revenue reports were reviewed for May 2004.
Revenues for May 2004 were $ 14,464.53 versus May 2004 of$9,877.62.
Number of clients served May 2004,were 7,303 vs.May 2003 of 4,860.
Revenue reports were reviewed for June 2004
Revenues for June 2004 were$ 14,464.53 versus June 2004 of$9,877.62.
Number of clients served June 2004,were 5,640 vs.June 2003 of 4,775.
The meeting was cancelled in June due to lack of quorum.
Adjourn:
Alma Molina motioned to adjourn. Glenda Elledge seconded the motion.Motion passed.
The meeting adjourned at 12:35pm.
The next meeting will be held at the College Station Conference Center on Wednesday August 18,2004 at
12:00pm.

Senior Services Coordinator Report
August 2004
Golden Age Olympics Survey Results
A questionnaire was distributed and returned from 53 seniors at the Seniors Expo. Questions
focused on top five events they would like to see offered. Results are attached.
Classes: Free Computer Classes
Free Beginning Computer classes will be offered at the Center for Regional services on Monday
and Wednesday from September 20-October 6 from 9:OOam-10:30am. Register by calling 764-
6371. Limit 10.
Summer Classic Film Series at the George Bush Presidential Library
On Tuesday,August 31 seniors are invited to see the film Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
College Station Senior Services will provide free transportation to the film for seniors at
designated locations, times and with a reservation. Seating is limited.
Computer Club
The Computer Club for seniors will meet on September 8 and 22 at the College Station Utilities
Services Center. The September 8th meeting will have presenter Larry Lippke discussing the
program"Quicken". Caren Urban will be speaking on the security of on line banking and
identity theft on September 22. All meeting begin at 9:00am and end at 10:30am.
Third Friday Bridge
Those interested in playing bridge may join the Third Friday Bridge Group on Friday, September
17`h at the Teen Center. The group meets from 9:30am-12:00noon. Please call Marci at 764-
6371 to make a reservation.
Fall Classes
Registration for Fall Xtra Education Classes begins on Tuesday, September 7th at the Parks and
Recreation Department office located in Central Park. Classes begin the week of September 13`h
Citizen Police Academy
Have you ever wondered what it was like to be a Police Officer?Make a traffic stop in the early
morning? Search a building with only you and one other officer?Well here is your chance. The
34th Citizen Police Academy will be starting on September 7, 2004. Learn how the Police
department works along with several other local depaitments including the District Attorney,
County Attorney,TABC, etc. The class is every Tuesday night from 7-10pm with graduation
night on December 7, 2004. If you have questions or would like an application please call Karla
Wiesepape at764-3573.
Brazos Valley Senior Olympics
The Brazos Valley Sports Foundation has been asked to assist with the creation of the Brazos
Valley Senior Olympics. This event, consisting of at least nine different sports and will be a
qualifier for the Texas State Senior Olympics. It will be open to any participant,regardless of
where they live in Texas. This is a local/regional event and will take place in April 2005. The
College Station Parks and Recreation Department will be a part of the organizing committee.
