Summary: The Brazos Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) was formed in 2003 to enhance
economic and social growth in the Brazos Valley by marketing, promoting, developing and
coordinating tourism, conventions, sports, and hospitality opportunities in the area. Under the CVB's
newly adopted bylaws, the City Council appoints six (6) directors of which two (2) may be city council
members. Appointed directors serve two (2) year terms. However, in order to provide staggered
terms as required under the new bylaws, three (3) of the directors will be appointed to serve one year
terms to begin October 1, 2017, and expire September 30, 2018. The remaining three (3) appointees
will be appointed to serve from October 1, 2017, to September 30, 2018. The newly appointed
directors will serve under the direction of the College Station City Council.

Recommendation(s): Staff recommends Council receive the presentation and provide direction.
Summary: City Council was shown the final renderings of the project prior to bidding for construction
during the August 10, 2017 City Council Workshop. At that time, City Council directed that the facade
should match the materials in the City's gateway sign with the intent of municipal facilities having a
uniform appearance and being easily recognizable as a city facility. Final renderings of the project
with that design direction will be presented.
