ORDINANCE NO. __________
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS, CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS OF THE GENERAL
ELECTION, HELD ON NOVEMBER 4, 2014, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING CITY
COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR PLACES 1, 3 AND 5.
RECITALS:
1. On August 14, 2014 the City Council ordered that a General Election be held on
November 4, 2014 for the purpose of electing City Council Members for Places 1, 3 and 5.
2. Notice of this election was duly published in The Eagle on October 9 and 16, 2014 and in
La Voz Hispana on October 9 and 16, 2014.
3. A copy of the notice was posted on the bulletin board at City Hall on August 26, 2014.
4. This election was duly and legally held on November 4, 2014, in conformity with the
election laws of the State of Texas, and the results of the election have been certified and
returned by the proper judges and clerks.
5. The City Council of the City of College Station, Texas with the following members present:
Councilmembers Blanche Brick, Steve Aldrich, Karl Mooney, John Nichols, and Julie Schultz
have today considered the returns of the General Election held on November 4, 2014.
6. It appears to the Council, and the Council finds, that the election was in all respects
lawfully held.
7. It appears to the Council, and Council finds, that the tabulation of the results of the
election is correct.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The General Election of November 4, 2014 was duly called, notice of the
election was given in accordance with law, and the election was held in accordance with law.
SECTION 2. The tabulation of votes cast in the General Election held on November 4,
2014, for the purposes stated in Recital 1 above, a copy of which is attached to and made a part
of this ordinance. is adopted as the official tabulation of the votes cast at the election, and the
tabulation will be filed and recorded in the official records of the City of College Station as the
official canvass of the election.
SECTION 3. The official canvass of the returns of the election reflects the following:
A. For the City Council Member Place 1: the following votes were cast:
Blanche Brick 6,845
Gabriel Pereira 2,045
B. For the City Council Member Place 3:
Karl Mooney 7,572
C. For the City Council Member Place 5:
Julie MerriField Schultz 5,316
Linda Harvell 3,564
SECTION 4. That Blanche Brick received a majority of the votes and is elected to serve
as City Council Place 1. That Karl Mooney received a majority of the votes and is elected to
serve as City Council Place 3. That Julie Merrifield Schultz received a majority of the votes and
is elected to serve as City Council Place 5.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this the 18th day of November 2014.

ORDENANZA NÚMERO __________
UNA ORDENANZA DEL CONSEJO DE LA CIUDAD DE COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS,
PARA SONDEAR LOS RESULTADOS DE LOS VOTOS Y DECLARANDO LOS
RESULTADOS ELECTORALES DE LAS ELECCIONES GENERALES, CELEBRADAS EL
4 DE NOVIEMBRE DE 2014, CON EL PROPÓSITO DE ELEGIR A LOS MIEMBROS DEL
CONSEJO MUNICIPAL PARA LOS PUESTOS NÚMERO 1, 3 Y 5.
CONSIDERANDO:
1. El 14 de agosto de 2014, el Consejo Municipal de la Ciudad ordenó que se realizaran
Elecciones Generales a celebrarse el 4 de noviembre de 2014, con el propósito de elegir a los
Miembros del Consejo Municipal de la Ciudad para los Puestos Número 1, 3 y 5.
2. La Notificación de estas elecciones fue debidamente publicada en el periódico local The
Eagle el 9 y el 16 de octubre de 2014; y en La Voz Hispana el 9 y el 16 de octubre de 2014.
3. Una copia de la notificación fue colocada en el boletín informativo de la Municipalidad
de la Ciudad el 26 de agosto de 2014.
4. Las elecciones mencionadas anteriormente se celebraron de manera legal y debida, el 4
de noviembre de 2014, de acuerdo con las leyes de elecciones del Estado de Texas, y los
resultados electorales han sido certificados e ingresados por los jueces y oficiales apropiados.
5. El Consejo Municipal de la Ciudad de College Station, Texas, con los siguientes miembros
presentes: Miembros del Consejo Blanche Brick, Steve Aldrich, Karl Mooney, John Nichols, y
Julie Schultz han considerado hoy los resultados eletorales de las Elecciones Generales
celebradas el 4 de noviembre de 2014.
6. Los documentos electorales son presentados ante el Consejo, y el Consejo encuentra que
las elecciones se celebraron debidamente con respecto a la ley.
7. Los documentos electorales son presentados ante el Consejo, y el Consejo encuentra que
la tabulación de los resultados electorales es correcta.
EL CONSEJO MUNICIPAL DE LA CIUDAD DE COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS,
ORDENA LO SIGUIENTE:
SECCIÓN 1. Las Elecciones Generales del 4 de noviembre de 2014 fueron debidamente
anunciadas; la notificación de las elecciones fue realizada conforme a la ley; y las elecciones
fueron celebradas de acuerdo a la ley.
SECCIÓN 2. La tabulación de los votos en las Elecciones Generales celebradas el 4 de
noviembre de 2014, para los propósitos mencionados en Considerando Número 1, una copia del
cual se adjunta y se hace parte de esta ordenanza; se adopta como la tabulación oficial de los
votos emitidos en las elecciones y la tabulación se registrará en los registros oficiales de la
Ciudad de College Station como el sondeo oficial de las elecciones.
SECCIÓN 3. El sondeo oficial de los resultados electorales refleja lo siguiente:
A. Para el Miembro del Consejo Puesto Número 1, los siguientes votos fueron emitidos:

B. Para el Miembro del Consejo Puesto Número 3:

la Ciudad Puesto Número 3. Que Julie Merrifield Schultz recibió una mayoría de los votos y se
elige para servir como Miembro del Consejo Municipal de la Ciudad Puesto Número 5.
