MEMBERS PRESENT : Chairman Keith Roberts , Sherti Ichols , Jeff Mazzolini, Dennis Christiansen and Rene Ramirez STAFF PRESENT : Justin Golbabai, John Haislet, Jeniftt Paz, Eric Chafin, and Crystal Derkowski AGENDA ITEM NO . 1 : Call to Order. Chairman Roberts called the meeting to order at 6 : 02pm. AGENDA ITEM NO . 2 : Presentation , possible action , and discussion regarding the minutes from May 3 , 2016. Board Member Echols motioned to approve the April 4, 2017 meeting minutes . Board Member Ramirez seconded the motion, which passed (5 -0) . AGENDA ITEM NO. 3 : Public hearing, presentation , possible action, and discussion to consider a setback variance to the Unified Development Ordinance 12-5 .2 ` Residential Dimensional Standards ' for The Knoll Subdivision, Block 9 , Lot 18 , generally located at 1211 Winding Road, which is zoned GS General Suburban . Case #AWV2017-000012 Applicant withdrew the application AGENDA ITEM NO. 4 : Public hearing, presentation, possible action , and discussion to consider a variance to the Code of Ordinances Section 2-52 .3 , regarding the minimum 100- foot distance of an enclosure that houses fowl from dwellings other than the dwelling occupied by the owner of the fowl for Reatta Meadows Sec 1 , Ph 2 , Block 2 , Lot 1 , generally located at 900 LaDove Drive, which is zoned GS General Suburban. Case #AWV2017-000011 Senior Planner Pa7 presented the staff report and stated that the applicant is requesting a variance to the Code of Ordinances, Section 2- 52 . 3 , regarding the minimum 100-foot distance of an enclosure that houses fowl from dwellings other than the dwelling occupied by the owner of the fowl . She ended her staff report and stated that staff is recommending denial due to a lack of extraordinary or special conditions on the subject property . There was a general discussion amongst the Board . Chairman Roberts opened the public hearing . Shawna Fletcher/Carey, applicant, spoke in favor of the variance request . Chairman Roberts closed the public hearing . There was a general discussion amongst the Board . Board Member Ramirez motioned to deny the variance as it will be contrary to the public interest, due to the lack of any special conditions , and because a strict enforcement of the provisions of the ordinance would not result in unnecessary hardship to the applicant . Board Member Christiansen seconded the motion . Chairman Roberts called for the vote . Motion to approve passed ( 5 - 0) AGENDA ITEM NO . 5 : Discussion and possible action on future agenda items - A member may inquire about a subject for which notice has not been given . A statement of specific factual information or the recitation of existing policy may be given . Any deliberation shall be limited to a proposal to place the subject on an agenda for a subsequent meeting. There was no discussion . AGENDA ITEM NO . 6 : Adjourn The meeting was adjourned at 6 : 30pm .
