City Manager Ragland introduced Gene Schrickel and Hershel Lindley of Schrickel, Rollins and Associates, consultants for the development of the 200 acre Business Park. Mr. Lindley described the time line for completion of the final plans and specifications. He outlined the characteristics and land uses of business parks. Mr. Lindley briefly stated the goals and objectives for this business park. He recommended to the Council that another name be chosen for the park. Mr. Lindley described four conceptual plans for the Pebble Creek area and Business Park. Gene Schrickel showed slides of several business parks. Mr. Lindley commented on the park's amenities and the consultant's vision for this park. Robert Worley, Executive Director of Economic Development Foundation, addressed the Council on his viewpoints of the Business Park. Councilman Gardner commented that he is not "sold" on the idea of spending a great deal of money in the beginning and as a result nominal development occurs. A.P. Boyd of Young Brothers, Inc. commented on the history of Pebble Creek and its future assets. He suggested to the Council that the name of Lick Creek be changed to Pebble Creek. Councilman Kennady agreed with Councilman Gardner to suggest that the Council be fiscally conservative in that the project should be developed in phases.
