Call to order and Roll Call. The meeting was called to order with a quorum present at 7:00 PM. 2. Possible action concerning requests and Megan Fuentes. ts'for sences of members. COMPLETE • Frog Slide and Spray Feature Replacement —COMPLETE • Stump Slide Replacement —COMPLETE COMPLETE BARRACKS PARKS i • Addition of three new parks, along with LED lights to the existing parks. • Construction moving forward. The contractor has 275 days to complete this project. Construction started March 20, 2017. Project scheduled to be completed by Mid -December 2017. BEE CREEK PARK • Pickle Ball — Contract in routing for signatures. BRIDGEWOOD PARK • Installation of concrete sidewalk and park amenity pads. • Concrete is COMPLETE. Staff is in the process of getting quotes for the amenities. We hope to have all quotes in by the middle of May. Installation of the two picnic units and two benches will be installed by city staff soon after delivery. BROTHERS POND PARK • Replacement of play unit and surfacing. o Currently in the process of getting sealed construction drawings for the playground. Contract was signed at the end of April. They have 60 days to submit 100% drawings. Lemontree, Edelweiss Gartens, Woodland Hills and Art and Myra Bright are part of this contract. PROJECT UPDATE Parks & Recreation Department 1 City of College Station CO' CASTLEGATE PARK • Swing set surfacing.— COMPLETE. • Tennis Court Light Fixtures— Requesting quotes to have all 9 light fixtures and poles replaced with LED fixtures. All quotes are due May 19'n CASTLEROCK PARK • Removal of pea gravel surfacing and replace with bonded rubber. COMPLETE. CENTRAL PARK • Playground — New playground unit is now COMPLETE • Sidewalk Repairs to office —60 days to complete. New sidewalk and brick path have been removed and re -poured. Contractor working on drainage issues. Project is to be completed by June 2151. • Softball Bleacher Cover — Replacement of all four shade covers. Currently on hold. New contractor submitted a much lower price on Anderson and Bachmann. Waiting to see the quality of work before going with this vender. • ADA Improvements along front pond. — 30 percent drawings where submitted May ist, and are currently under staff review. Once review is complete, firm has 30 days to submit 60% drawings. CRESCENT POINT PARK • Design firm working on construction drawings for additional amenities to the park using Parkland Dedication funds. The drawings will be submitted to Planning and Development Services later this month. CY MILLER PARK • New metal roof for gazebo. Current pricing is too high to move forward with at this time. Waiting to see if any other projects come in under budget before requesting new quotes. We will have a better understanding as to where we stand financially, mid -June, early July. EDELWEISS PARK • New swing and surfacing. COMPLETE EDELWEISS GARTENS PARK • Removal of pea gravel surfacing, replace with bonded rubber. o Contract for sealed drawings in progress. Contact was signed at the end of April. They have 60 days to submit. GEORGIE K FITCH PARK • New playground and surfacing. COMPLETE • Basketball court resurfacing. Contract in routing for signatures. G.K. FITCH/ RINGER LIBRARY TRAIL • Concrete path connecting Fitch Park to the Ringer Library. a 30% drawings where submitted May 1st, and are currently under staff review. Once the staff review is complete, design team will then have 30 days to submit 60% drawings. JACK AND DOROTHY MILLER PARK • Walking Path - New surfacing on track. COMPLETE • Gazebo — New metal roof — Quotes received earlier this year were out of budget. Staff will wait to see if any other projects come in under budget before requesting new quotes. Staff will revisit this project in July. JOHN CROMPTON PARK • Replacing current park Tight fixtures with LED fixtures. Requesting quotes currently. All quotes are due May 19th. LEMONTREE PARK • Parking Lot — Removal and replacement. COMPLETE • Play Unit — Replacement of play unit and surfacing. Design firm currently working on sealed drawings for the new playground. Drawings are due June 16th. LICK CREEK PARK • Nature Center —Construction moving along. Contractor expects to be finished June/July 2017. LINCOLN CENTER • Expansion — Work continues as scheduled. Interior work has started. Contractor expects to be done in August. • Swing — New oval swing and surfacing to go in by splash pad. Scheduled to be complete by April 21st. LIONS PARK • Play Unit — New play unit and surfacing is in. COMPLETE Paige 3 PROJECT UPDATE Parks & Recreation Department I City of College Station kir' MEMORIAL CEMETERY OAKS PARK • Jewish Section —Quotes are in. Quote and layout are currently under staff review. We expect to go to contract within the next few weeks. • Play Unit — New unit is in and rubber surfacing is in. COMPLETE • Sidewalk Rehab — Project in progress. Just under half of this project has been completed. Contractor has till the end ofJune to complete this project. PEBBLE CREEK PARK • Lights — Requesting quotes to remove existing park light fixtures and replace with LED fixtures, as well as re -plumbing the existing light poles. All quotes are due May 19'h. RAINTREE/ BRIGHT PARK • Play Unit — Replacement of existing unit and surfacing. ■ Firm working on sealed drawings. Drawings are due June 1G`h • Sidewalk —This project has been on hold due to funding sources. New direction has been given. We will now re-route a sections of the sidewalk along the creek, provide ADA access to most of the parks amenities, and due some stabilization along the existing sidewalk near the play unit. Design contract is in routing for signatures. RINGER LIBRARY EXPANSION • Construction drawings have been submitted to Development Services for review. Once completed, the project will go out for bids. Timeline for review is unknown at this time. REATTA MEADOWS PARK • Development of Park — o Construction drawings will be submitted to Development Services later this month for review. Review time is unknown. SANDSTONE PARK • Fitness Unit — New fitness pod. COMPLETE SONOMA PARK • Development of Park — One hundred percent construction drawings will be submitted to Development Services later this month for review. Review time is unknown. Crescent Point and Reatta Meadows will submitted along with this project. SOUTHEAST PARK • Ball Field Design — 90% PER complete and ready to be finalized. Currently, staff is looking at how to fund and phase this project. SOUTHERN OAKS PARK • Swing — Replacement of swing and surfacing. COMPLETE Page 4 PROJECT UPDATE Parks & Recreation Department I City of College Station 01" SOUTHWOOD/ BACHMANN PARK • Balifields - ■ Backstops — • Contract in routing for signatures. Work is expected to start late June. Material is on order, six to nine week lead time on material. • Shade Canopies — • Contractor expected to start in the next week or two, material on order. Project is expected to take two days to complete. • Pool — Replacement of supply and return piping • Starting September 5t", crews will saw cut the existing pool deck and remove the old metal supply and return lines to and from the pool. New PVC Tines will be installed in their place. In addition, the expansion joints within the pool will be replaced. STEEPLECHASE PARK • Swing — New swing and surfacing o Project is COMPLETE THOMAS PARK • Fitness Pod —New pod is in. COMPLETE • Pool — Repair/ replace a section of fence around the pool as well the gate from mechanical room to pool. Material is on order. Contractor has till July 7th to make the repairs. • Tennis Court - ■ Lights — Requesting quotes to remove the existing lights and replace with LED fixtures. All quotes are due May 19t''. • Fence- Replacement of existing chain link with a heavier gauge and replace existing post. Material is on order. Contractor has till July 21st to finish this project. UNIVERSITY PARK • New surfacing and swing —COMPLETE VETERANS PARK • Thirty percent drawings have been submitted and are under staff review. WAYNE SMITH • Shade structures (Fabric) — o Staff is currently hold off on this project. Much like Central, a new contractor submitted a much lower quote than the previous three. We will evaluate their work before signing another contract with them. We expect to go to contract with some contractor by the end of this month.
