Dear Mr. Lentz:
The Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals voted unanimously(5-0)to grant a variance
to the fire sprinkler system for the above referenced case. The variance was granted with the
following conditions:
• The owner installs a wet standpipe system (class I in accordance with NFPA 14), connected to
the municipal water supply system with an approved backflow prevention device.
• The owner installs 2A1OBC fire extinguishers within 50 feet of travel from any point in the
garage and installs a 40BC fire extinguisher at each standpipe connection.
• The owner installs an additional 1.5"valve or a 2.5" valve reduced to a 1.5" connection at
each standpipe location.
This vote was taken at the Board's regular meeting on 25 September 2000. Please contact me at
