RE: Variance 98-005

The Fire Department supports the variance to the sprinkler system for the parking garage if the following
conditions are placed on the request.
1. The owner installs a wet standpipe system connected to the city water distribution system. (no fire
pump required)
2. The owner installs 2A, 10BC extinguisher within 50 feet of travel from any point in the garage,and
installs a 40 BC extinguisher at each standpipe connection.
3. The owner installs an additional 1.5" valve or 2.5" valve reduced to a 1.5"connection at each
standpipe location.
These conditions have been negotiated with and approved by Dalton Hodges a representative of the
Callaway Development Corporation.
