The following specific variation from the ordinance is requested.
To change the fire walls into 4 sections to meet fire ordinances and
to eliminate the requirement for fire rated exit access corridors .
This variance is necessary due to the following special conditions.
I would have to redesign the entire building unaer the current
ordinance.

To run fire walls from front to back of building and into 4 sections.
This variance will not be contrary to the public interest by
virtue of the following

I move to deny a variance from the terms of this ordinance for the following reasons: A
variance would be contrary to the public interest; no special conditions exist by which a
strict enforcement of the provisions of the ordinance would result in unnecessary
hardship to this applicant; in addition, granting a variance would not observe nor
accomplish substantial justice.

Action Requested: To allow installation of fire rated walls from the front to the back of the
structure. This would create four sections in the building. Also,consideration of variance to the
requirement for fire rated exit access corridors.
Building Official's Comments: City Ordinance 1919 and Standard Building Code 1991 addition,
Section 1103.4.7 Table 700 require 1 hour rated walls for corridor access and 1 hour rated doors for
partitions between rooms and corridors or hallways.

The College Station Construction Board of Adjustments and appeals will hold a
public hearing to consider a variance request by T.A.B. Construction regarding

Current Zoning of Table 700.
The hearing will be held in the Council Room of the College Station City Hall,
1101 Texas Avenue at 4:00 p.m.on January 3, 1995. Any request for sign
