Applicable Ordinances: 1991 Standard Building Code Table 600 Staff Comments: When the plans check for the Grace Bible Church was done, it was noted that the one hour rated roof/ceiling assembly indicated was incorrect. IT was explained that the UL manual assemblies designated X were for columns, and not for roof/ceiling assemblies. The applicant was asked to correct or provide additional information. The applicant then submitted information from the manufacturer for a product called CAFCO Blaze-Shield. This information, while helpful in understanding the product and its application, was not a nature to indicated the product had a rating accepted by the UL Laboratories. The applicant has diligently worked and made contacts trying to find test results for the product proposed which would indicated it had officially been rated by a testing laboratory, but has been unsuccessful in his efforts. Because the product does not have a UL rating for a roof/ceiling assembly, staff is unable to approve the use of the product for permitting without the Board granting a variance.
