Mr. Kidd has just completed 4 of these GoodYear stores and all of them used
the standard plans with the 1 hour wall. A 2 hour wall would allow us to con-
; tinue with the project without altering the foundation plan.

be classified as a business (B) occupancy. This building has different occupancy
classification groups, which deem the building to be a mixed occupancy. The accessory
occupancy of storage (Si) requires a three hour separation between the business
occupancy and the accessory use as per code Section 403.1.3 (minimum fire resistance
separation requirement between mixed occupancies). Section 405.4.1 is applicable based
upon the intended use of the service area.
"An Automotive Lubrication Service Facility of Group B occupancy is a
place of retail business at which the periodic servicing of automotive
equipment is accomplished by the removal and/or replacement of oils,
fluids, filters, greases and minor parts necessary for the maintenance and
upkeep of vehicles normally used for transportation on the public roads and
highways. These facilities may include provisions for the tuning of
engines."
The storage area is to be used for tire storage and a used bulk oil storage tank.
Determination as to be relative fire concern was established by the Fire Department in
regard to the combustible solids (tires). This is a class V commodity and presents a
special fire hazard. This determination mandated the storage area classification as (Si)
moderate hazard storage and consequently requires the three hour wall separation
requirement.

The College Station Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals will hold a public hearing to
consider a variance request by Engineered Constructors, Inc. for the following property:

The hearing will be held in the Council Room of the College Station City Hall, 1101 Texas
Avenue at 4:00 p.m. meeting of the Board on Wednesday, August 17, 1994.
