An Ordinance to adjust the Boundaries of the City of
College Station, Texas, to include all of the Agricultural
and Mechanical College Student Apartment Area known as College
View Apartments within the incorporated limits of said City
and declaring an emergency.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of College
Station, Texas:
A request having been made by the Agricultural. and Mechan-
ical College of Texas, through its President, as the sole
owner of the hereinafter described territory adjoining the limits
of the incorporated City of College Station, Texas, that the
boundaries of the City of College Station, Texas, be adjusted
to include that portion of College View Apartment area not now
within its incorporated limits, and the same being territory
held solely in name of the Agricultural and Mechanical College
of Texas.
Now, therefore, the City Council, by virtue of the authority
of Article 974, Title 28, Chapter 1 of the Revised Civil Statutes
of the State of Texas, 1925, as amended, by this ordinance does
hereby receive and include said adjoining territory within the
incorporated limits of the City of College Station, Texas, such
adjoining territory being described more particularly as follows,
to -wit:
Beginning at an iron bar at the west corner of the C. J.
Corzyc1t Tract, thence S 45° W a distance of 2052 feet to the
west right of way line of State Highway 308, thence S 450 E along
the west right of way line of said highway a distance of 890 feet
to the existing city boundary line; thence in a northeasterly
direction along the existing city boundary line a distance of 510
feet to the east corner of the A. & M. College nursery tract; thence
N 5° E along the existing city boundary line a distance of 1812 feet
to the place of beginning.
The fact that the aforesaid territory is without the police
and other protection afforded by the city creates an emergency,
and an emergency is hereby declared, and the rule requiring that
an ordinance be read at two successive meetings is hereby suspended
and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately
from and after its passage.
Passed and approved by the City Council of the City of
College Station, Texas, the 6M day of ✓v/y, 0.6
