AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID'OF THE DALE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY AS THE LOWEST
SECURE BID FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PERMANENT PAVING ON COONER STREET FROM THE
RIGHT OF WAY OF HIGHWAY NO. 6 TO THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS; AWARDING CONTRACT TO DALE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY UPON ITS BID; APPROVE
ING CONTRACT AND CONSTRUCTION BOND EXECUTED BY THE CONTRACTOR FOR THE DOING OF
SAID WORK; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT, AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station has received in
due form of law the bid of Dale Construction Company for the construction of
permanent paving on Cooner Street, for the sum of 0,130.84, which said bid was
the lowest secure bid for the construction of said permanent paving, and the Dale
Construction Company is entitled to have said work above mentioned awarded to it;
and
WHEREAS, the said Dale Construction Company, has executed a contract and
construction bond and has presented same to the City Council for approval and
execution by the City; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION:
Section 1. That the City Council has accepted and does hereby accept the
bid of the Dale Construction Company for the construotion of permanent paving on
COoner Street in the City of College Station, Texas, for the sum of Nine Thousand
One Hundred Thirty and 84/100 Dollars, and the contract for the construction of
the above mentioned paving is hereby awarded to Dale Construction Company.
Section 2. The said Dale Construction Company, having already executed and
submitted to the City Council for their approval, contract and construotion bond,
said contract and bond are hereby aocepted and approved as such, and in full
compliance of all requirements of law and of the specifications and bid for the
construction of the above mentioned pavement, and that the sureties on said bond
be, and the same is hereby authorized to execute said contract, for and on behalf
of the City of College Station.
Section 3. The fact that the above street between the intersections
mentioned is in bad condition and the same should be improved immediately, creates
a public emergency requiring that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of
its introduction, and the Mayor having in writing declared the existence of such
emergency and requested such passage, this ordinance shall be passed finally on
the date of its introduction, this the 29th day of August, A. D., 1947, and shall
take effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
