HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/07/1943 - Regular Minutes - City CouncilMinutes of Called Meeting September 7, 1943 Members present: Mayor Langford, Councilmen E. E. Brown, R. L. Brown, C. W. Crawford, G. B. Wilcox; Business Manager L. D. Smith. The Mayor stated that the purpose of the meeting was to hear a report of the Zoning Commission relative to re- zoning a certain area within the city limits. After reading the report of the Commission, the following res- olution was adopted on motion of Councilman R. L. Brown seconded by Councilman,Crawford. RESOLUTION The Council having by ordinance proposed the re -zoning of all of that part of the City lying east of Highway 6 and north of Lincoln Avenue to District 3,,Apa.rtment House District; and having by the same ordinance caused to be published and posted due notice of such proposal as well as having referred the question to the Zoning Commission for recommendation; having set a date for a public hearing on the proposal, and there being no objection raised at the hour of the public hearing, hereby accepts the recom- mendation of the Zoning Commission and declares that all of that part of the City of College Station, Texas, referred to above is re -zoned to District 3, Apartment House District; all with the understanding that the Business Districts in the said area shall remain as presently zoned.
