AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING
ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR
TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
Section 1. On the 23rd day of January,. 1967, at 7:00 p. m. o'clock in the
3 ± City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of College Station, Texas the
City Council will hold a public hearing giving all interested persons the right to
appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of College Station,
Texas of the following described property, to wit:
Tract 1: Beginning at a point in the west right-of-way line of State
Highway No. 6. This point also being along the present city
limits boundary.
Thence S 45° E a distance of 1500. 0 feet more or less along
the west right-of-way line of Highway No. 6 and is the common
corner of Morgan Smith tract and the Stasney 15. 0 acre tract.
Thence N 45° W along the common property line of the Stasney
tract and the Morgan Smith tract a distance of 2425. 0 feet to a point.
Thence N 45° W a distance of 1200. 0 feet to a point.

Thence N 45° E a distance of 635 feet to a point.
!{6 Thence N 45°W a distance of 994. 0 feet to a point.
Thence N 78° E a distance of 1928. 0 feet to a place of beginning
containing 94. 0 acres of land more or less.
Tract 2: Beginning at a point, said point being S 45°27'30" 113. 2 feet from
the most southerly corner of Lot 10, Block 10, Section 5, The Glade,
a Subdivision of the City of College Station, Texas; said corner also
6,1 being on the present City Limits Boundary.
Thence S 42°27'30" W a distance of 1376. 5 feet to a point, said
0 point being the most southerly corner of the South Knoll Subdivision, a
0 subdivision to the City of College Station, Texas.
Thence S 47°20' E a distance of 1566. 7 feet through a 165 acre
tract to the most southerly common corner of this tract, and the most
westerly common corner of the McCrory Tract.

Thence N 42°25'30" W a distance of 1383. 0 feet along the common
property line of the Area Progress Corporation and McCrory tracts
to a point. This point being the most easterly corner of the Area
Progress Corporation 165 acre tract.
Thence N 47°34'30" E a distance of 1565. 9 feet along the common
property line of the F. B. Clark tract and the Area Progress
Corporation tract to the place of beginning.
Section 2. The Mayor of the City of College Station is hereby authorized and
directed to cause notice of such public hearing to be published once in a newspaper
having general circulation in the city and in the above described territory not
more than twenty days nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public
hearing, all in accordance with the Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter 160, Acts of
the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963; compiled as 970a, Vernon's Texas
Civil Statutes).
Section 3. The importance of this ordinance creates an emergency and an
imperative public necessity that the rule requiring ordinances to be read at
three several meetings be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, and the
ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption.
