ORDINANCE NO, 483
ORDINANCE CANVASSING RETURNS AND
DECLARING RESULTS OF BOND ELECTION
THE STATE OF TEXAS

COUNTY OF BRAZOS
The City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, convened in
regular session at the regular meeting place thereof in the City Hall, within
said City on the 26th day of September, 1966, with the following members
present, to -wit:
D. A. Anderson Mayor
Bill J. Cooley Councilman
Homer B. Adams Councilman
Robert R. Rhodes Councilman
O. M. Holt Councilman
A. L. Rosprim Councilman
A. P. Boyett Councilman
Charles F. Richardson City Secretary
and the following members absent, to -wit: None, when, among other business,
the following was transacted:
The Mayor introduced an ordinance which was read in full. Councilman
Boyett made a motion that the ordinance be adopted as read. Councilman
Rhodes seconded the motion for adoption of the ordinance. The motion,
carrying with it the adoption of the ordinance, prevailed by the following
vote:
AYES: Councilmen Cooley, Adams, Rhodes, Holt, Rosprim,
Boyett, and Mayor Anderson.
NOES: None.
The Mayor thereupon announced that the motion had duly and lawfully
carried, and that the ordinance had been duly and lawfully adopted. The
ordinance thus adopted follows:
ORDINANCE CANVASSING RETURNS AND
DECLARING RESULTS OF BOND ELECTION
WHEREAS, on the 23rd day of August, 1966, the City Council of the
City of College Station, adopted an ordinance calling a special election to be

held in said City on the 17th day of September, 1966, for the purpose of
submitting to the duly qualified resident electors of said City who owned
taxable property within said City and who had duly rendered the same for
taxation, for their action thereupon, the following proposition, to -wit:
PROPOSITION
$600, 000 revenue bonds of said City for the purpose of
extending and improving the City's existing waterworks
system and pledge of the net revenues from the opera-
tion of the waterworks system, sanitary sewer system and
electric light and power system in payment thereof.
WHEREAS, there were cast at said election a total of 404 votes,
of which number there were cast:
PROPOSITION
FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $600, 000 WATERWORKS SYSTEM
EXTENSIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS REVENUE BONDS 327 votes
AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $600, 000 WATERWORKS
SYSTEM EXTENSIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS REVENUE
BONDS
MAJORITY FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $600, 000 WATER-
WORKS SYSTEM EXTENSIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS
REVENUE BONDS
77 votes
250 votes
as shown in the official election returns heretofore submitted to said City
Council and filed with the City Secretary; and
WHEREAS, said election was called and notice thereof was given
and said election was held under and in strict conformity with law; Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION:
Section 1. That the bond election held in and throughout the City
of College Station, Texas, on the 17th day of September, 1966, which
election is more particularly described in the preamble to this ordinance,
was duly called and notice thereof given in accordance with law; that said
election was held in the manner required by law; that only duly qualified
resident electors of said City who owned taxable property within said

City and who had duly rendered the same for taxation voted at said election;
that said election has resulted favorably to the issuance of the bonds
described in the proposition described above and more particularly in the
ordinance calling said election; and that more than a mojority of the qualified
voters voting at said election have voted in favor of the issuance of the bonds
described in said proposition.
Section 2. That the City Council is now authorized to issue all of said
bonds described in said proposition, and to do any and all things necessary
and convenient in connection therewith.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
immediately upon and after its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 26th day of September, 1966.
