Regular Agenda Item No. 1 — Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present

With a quorum present, the Audit Committee of College Station was called to order by Mayor Nancy Berry at
4:30 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016 in the Administrative Conference Room of the City of College
Station City Hall, 1101 Texas Avenue, College Station, Texas 77842.
Regular Agenda Item No. 2 - Presentation, possible action, and discussion of minutes for the audit
committee meeting held on November 10, 2015.
Pulled due to wrong date of minutes
Regular Agenda Item No 3 - Presentation, possible action, and discussion regarding Police Inventory
Function Audit.
Ty Elliott, Internal Auditor presented the Audit Committee with the Police Inventory Function Audit.
Audits recommendations:
1. Automate the inventory supply/equipment records through an accountable information system.
2. Additional space should be provided for inventory storage and centralization strongly considered.
3. The duties of ordering, approving, and receiving should be segregated.
The police department is moving towards the implementation of a new Departmental software suite,
which is believed to offer an opportunity to address many of these recommendations to properly record,
track, store, and dispose of property. The department also plans to follow purchasing polices, meeting
best practice standards.
