SUBJECT: Agenda of the Regular Parks and Recreation Corittee meeting,
June 22, 1976
Item No. 1 -- I did not receive a copy of the minutes from the last meeting.
I will try to get the minutes and have copies available by
our meeting time on Tuesday.
Item No. 2 -- We only have one week from our meeting until the scheduled
bond election. I think the Parks and Recreation Committee
should plan a concentrated promotion of the park development
issue.
Please give this some thought and be prepared to suggest specific means to
publicize the need for the passage of this item.
Item No. 3 -- Please see the enclosed Reservation and Fee Policy proposal.
Please be prepared to act on it or to propose changes ect.
RESERVATION POLICY
Bee Creek Tennis Courts
1. Only (2) two of the (4) four courts will be available for reservations.
The other (2) two courts will have a sign saying "Please limit your
play to (1) one-hour when others are i,ra.iting."
2. Reservations will be made only for the following hours, seven days a
week.

RESERVATION POLICY
Bee Creek Tennis Courts
1. Only (2) two of the (4) four courts will be available for reservations.
The other (2) two courts will have a sign saying "Please limit your
play to (1) one-hour when others are i,ra.iting."
2. Reservations will be made only for the following hours, seven days a
week.

3. Reservation Procedure:
--- Reservations will be accepted at the swinm ng pool between 6 P.M.
and 9 P.M. daily."And at no other times"
--- Reservations may be made no more than (2) days in advance.
--- You are allowed only (1) one current reservation at a time.
--- Call in reservations will be held for (1) one hour only. You must
come in and pay the fee within this time to secure the reservation.
--- Fee is $4 for a 12 hour time period.
--- NO REFUNDS OR RAIN CHECKS!
--- The City will provide a reservation slip showing the time, date and
court number of the reservation.
--- These courts may be used at any time free of charge without a
reservation provided that no one presents a city issued slip as proof
of their reservation. (Players without -reservations must always
irmnediatly yeild the court to the people holding a reservation.)
To the Editor:
W'e, the undersighed members of the city of College Station's
Parks and Recreation Committee, strongly urge your readers to
vote for Proposition 4 in the June 29th bond election.
The city has two parks that no one has ever heard of:
Anderson Ridge Park at the daadend of Anderson Street, and +
Oaks Park at Rhett Butler and Rt. 30: Proposition 4 will turn
these "paper parks" into places where people can meet, picnic,
and play.
There are women's and girl's softball teams that want to
play in the city s summer program --and can't because there is no

room: Proposition 4 will provide money for two new ballfieldstR,,.s4i,

As our city grows more congested we need quiet places --
bicycle trails, nature trails, foot bridges, picnicing areas:
Proposition 4 will pay for them.
Cities that grow quickly almost always spendtoo little on
parks, and find themselves ;with no green places and no Play pl.a,-:e--
for their residents. A vote for Proposition 4 will keep us from
making that mistake.
