HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-0735 - Ordinance - 04/26/1971ORDINANCE NO. 735 AN ORDINANCE TO REZONE CERTAIN PROPERTY, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on April 26, 1971, on the question of rezoning certain areas within the City Limits; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following: To rezone or change the classification of the following described properties: P&Z Case No. 4-71 - A 5 acre tract at the corner of Highway 6 and Morgan Lane; being the Southeast one-half (1/2 of Lots Nine (9) and Ten (10) of Lakeview Acres, a subdivision of seventy-six (76) acres out of the Morgan Rector Survey, Brazos County, Texas, according to the revised plat of said subdivision of record in Volume 128, Page 300 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 3-A, Mobile Home Park District. P&Z Case No. 5-71 - An 8.53 acre tract of land lying and being situated in the Richard Carter League, Abstract S, Brazos County, Texas, and being part of the 113.62 acre tract described in the deed recorded in Volume 91, Page 82 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and located approximately 600 feet north of the north intersection of the Highway Six East By-pass and Highway 30; and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at the intersection of the northeast right-of-way line of State Highway No. 6 East By-pass with the northwest line of the before - mentioned 113.65 acre tract, same being the west corner of a 20.82 acre tract No. 1, being out of the said 113.62 acre tract; THENCE N 4200010011 E along the beforementioned northwest line of the 113.62 acre tract for a distance of 300.00 feet to a point for the PLACE OF BEGINNING of this 8.53 acre tract, said point being the north corner of the beforementioned 20.82 acre tra nt; THENCE N 4200010011 E along the beforementioned northwest line of the 113.62 acre tract for a distance of 340.00 feet to a point for corner, same being the west corner of a 30.51 acre tract No. 3 being out of the said 113.62 acre tract; THENCE along the southwest lines of the beforementioned 30.15 acre tract as follows: S 29027153" E for a distance of 372.33 feet to a point for angle point; S 40053'03" E for a distance of 746.01 feet to a point for corner, same being a north corner of the beforementioned 20.82 acre tract; THENCE S 4201$t37" W along a northwest line of the beforementioned 20.82 acre tract for a distance of 340.00 feet to a point for corner, same being an interior ell corner of the said 20.82 acre tract; THENCE along the northeast lines of the beforementioned 20.82 acre tract as follows: N 1+0053103" W for a distance of 743.08 feet to a point for angle point; N 29027'53" W for a distance of 373.96 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING containing 8.53 acres of land more or less; from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 3, Apartment Dwelling District. P&Z Case No. 9-71 - All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League, Brazos County, Texas, and being a part of two tracts of land conveyed to Area Progress Corporation by Roy W. Kelly and C.M.R. Deacon respectively and being all of the property included in the preliminary plat of Ponderosa Place and the recently annexed land 400 feet in depth along the southwest side of the State Highway No. 6 R.O.W. for a distance of 700 feet beginning at the northwest boundary line of Ponderosa Road along the said Highway No. 6 R.O.W. line and further described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at the East corner of the tract conveyed to Area Progress Corporation by Roy W. Kelly et ux at a point in the State Highway No. 6 southwest R.O.W. line; THENCE S 460 363.2 feet to an iron rod at the south corner of Ponderosa Place; THENCE N 37013' W 767 feet to an iron rod in the northwest boundary line of Ponderosa Place; THENCE S 52047' E 85.8 feet to a corner; THENCE N 37018' E a distance of 700 feet measured along the city limit line of the City of College Station, Texas; THENCE N 52047' E a distance of 400 feet to the Highway No. 6 R.O.W.; THENCE S 37015' E a distance of 770 feet along the Southwest R.O.W. line of State Highway No. 6; THENCE continue along said State Highway No. 6 R.O.W. S 80035' E 67.5 feet; THENCE S 37013' E 605.2 feet to the place of beginning containing 12.5 acres more or less; from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 4, First Business District.
