HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-0728 - Ordinance - 03/22/1971ORDINANCE NO. 728 AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE QUESTION OF REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has held public hearings and made certain recommendations concerning the rezoning requests, more particularly described in the body of this ordinance, it is hereby ordered that a public hearing shall be held at the City Hall in College Station, Texas at 7:00 P. M. on April 26, 1971 on the following: P&Z Case No. 4-71 - A 5 acre tract at the corner of Highway 6 and Morgan Lane; being the Southeast one-half (1/2 of Lots Nine (9) and Ten (10) of Lakeview Acres a subdivision of seventy-six (76) acres out of the Morgan Rector Survey, Brazos County Texas according to the revised plat of said Subdivision of record in Volume 128, Page 300 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas; The request is to rezone the tract from First Dwelling House District (District No. 1) to Mobile Home Park District (District No. 3-a). The request is to rezone the tract from First Dwelling House District (Ijym4c. 1) to First Business District (District No. 4). Ordinance No. 728 Page 4 P&Z Case No, 9-71 - All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League, Brazos County, Texas and being a part of two tracts of land conveyed to Area Progress Corporation by Roy W. Kelly and C. M. R. Deacon respectively and being all of the property included in the preliminary plat of Ponderosa Place and the recently annexed land 400 feet in depth along the Southwest side of the State Highway No. #6 R. 0. W. for a distance of 700 feet beginning at the Northwest Boundary line of Ponderosa Road along the said Highway #6 R. O. W. line and further described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at the East corner of the tract conveyed to Area Progress Corporation by Roy W. Kelly et ux at a point in the State Highway #6 Southwest R. 0. W. line. 0 THENCE S 46 363.2 feet to an iron rod at the South corner of Ponderosa Place; THENCE N 370 13' W 767 feet to an iron rod in the N. W. boundary line of Ponderosa Place; THENCE S 520 47' E 85a 8 feet to a corner; 0 THENCE N 37 18' E a distance of 700 feet measured along the City limit line of the City of College Station, Texas; THENCE N 520 47' E a distance of 400 feet to the Highway #6 R. O. W. ; THENCE S 370 18' E a distance of 770 feet along the Southwest R. 0. W. line of State Highway #6; feet; THENCE continue along said State Highway #6 R.O. W. S 800 35' E 67.5 THENCE S 370 13' E 605.2 feet to the place of beginning containing 12.5 acres more or less. The request is to rezone the lots from First Dwelling House District (District No. 1) to First Business District (District No. 4). Notice of said hearing shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of College Station at least three times, the first publication of which shall not be less than 15 days prior to the date fixed for the hearing.
