AN ORDINANCE TO REZONE A 41.5 ACRE TRACT OF LAND, MORE OR LESS, SITUATED
IN THE MORGAN RECTOR LEAGUE IN COLLEGE STATION, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS,
FROM DISTRICT NO. 1 (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO DISTRICT NO. 3 (APARTMENT
DISTRICT), SAID TRACT IS A PART OF A 75.2 ACRE TRACT OF LAND CONVEYED '-TO
W. M. DOWELL BY DEED RECORDED IN VOLUME 185, PAGE 409 OF THE DEED RECORDS
OF BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND
BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P. M.
on February 22, 1971, on the question of rezoning certain areas within the City Limits;
AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following:
To rezone or change the classification of 41. 5 acres of land, more or less,
situated in the Morgan Rector League in College Station, Brazos County, Texas, and is a
part of a 75.2 acre tract of land conveyed to W. M. Dowell by Deed Recorded in Volume 185,
Page 409 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and more particularly described by
metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at a fence corner in the southeast right of way line of
State Highway No. 30, S 450 W - 2546 feet from the southwest
right of way line of State Highway No. 6 By -Pass East;
Thence S 450 E - 1124 feet to the College Station Corporate Boundary;
Thence S 450 W - 1608 feet with said Corporate Boundary;
Thence N 450 W - 1124 feet to the southeast right of way line of
State Highway No. 30;
Thence N 45 E - 1608 feet with the southeast right of way line
of State Highway No. 30 to the point of beginning and containing
41. 5 acres of land, more or less,
from District No. 1 (Single Family Residential) to District No. 3 (Apartment District), and
it is so ordained that said change be effective immediately.
